The Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee (FARM) was established in June 2023 to provide advice and information to CA Board on Financial, Audit and Risk matters. The committee plays a major role in ensuring governance and compliance is upheld regarding Croquet Australia’s (CA) financial, audit and risk matters. CA are seeking an additional member for the FARM from the Croquet community.

FARM Purpose:

• Ensure the preparation and integrity of the CA’s financial accounts, budgets and statements satisfy legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Oversee the internal controls, policies and procedures of the CA to identify and manage financial risks.
• Oversee the CA’s insurances and risk management policy and activities.
• Ensure the qualifications, independence, engagement, fees and performance of the CA’s External Auditors satisfies the CAs statutory requirements.
• Assist and facilitate the external audit process and oversee the preparation of the CA’s annual audited accounts and financial statements; and• Ensure the CA’s financial management system, processes and procedures are effective, reviewed regularly and satisfy legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.

Qualifications
The Committee Members are required to be “financially literate” as defined by the Board (i.e. able to read and understand financial statements and challenge information presented in Committee meetings).

Committee CompositionAt least one CA Board Member.
The CA Treasurer.
A representative who has financial/accountancy qualifications and experience.
Any other independent person/s, who in the Board’s view would provide value and expertise in the financial oversight of CA.

Meetings
Meetings are held a minimum of four (4) times per year and participants attend via video conference.
