2019 AUSTRALIAN U21 GOLF CROQUET CHAMPIONSHIPS
ADELAIDE SA
SATURDAY 12TH JANUARY – MONDAY 14TH JANUARY
Overall there were 16 competitors from South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales. It was pleasing to see the attendance from Casterton in Victoria with five entries. The ages ranged from 20 to 10 and the handicaps from -4 to 16. The standard of play was impressive.
It was pleasing to watch the improvement in skills and tactics over the 3 days. All competitors learnt quickly from the more experienced entrants in the field.
Terry Ericson provided a coaching session for all those interested after the completion of the Singles on the Sunday.
SINGLES
There were two blocks with seven players in each. The top two from each block progressed to a Best of Three semi final and final on Sunday. The others played an Egyptian Format Event.
DOUBLES
On Monday there were six pairs in the Doubles. Because of the hot weather games in Rounds 1 – 3 were limited to 1 hour and in Rounds 4 & 5 to 45 minutes. All games had compulsory breaks for drinks.
