Croquet Australia is proud to announce the appointment of Kristie Middleton as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 18 September 2023. With a strong background in sports management and a proven track record of leadership, Kristie is set to lead Croquet Australia to new heights.

Kristie Middleton brings extensive sports management and leadership experience to the role having led multiple organisations, making her a perfect fit for Croquet Australia’s mission to raise the profile of croquet and gateball in Australia.

Kristie Middleton expressed their excitement for the new role, stating, “I am delighted to join Croquet Australia and am eager to work alongside the National Board to drive the organization’s success.”

Kristie Middleton succeeds Melanie Woosnam, the inaugural CEO of Croquet Australia, who resigned recently due to personal circumstances to spend more time with her family. Melanie provided clear direction for the Board through enhanced processes and procedures, governance, compliance, HR and financial management. She was also integral in improving stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building with members, State Associations, governing bodies, and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).

The board of directors expresses its gratitude for Melanie’s leadership and looks forward to a seamless transition under Kristie’s guidance.

Jim Nicholls, Chair of Croquet Australia, commented, “We are confident that Kristie is the right leader to take our organization forward. Her deep understanding of the sports industry and her strategic acumen make her a valuable addition to our team.”

Croquet Australia invites all members, players, and stakeholders to join us in welcoming Kristie as our new CEO.

Kristie will commence on Monday 18th September 2023.
